Windows, doors and details- Zugarramurdi, Spain

We recently visited the tiny village of Zugarramurdi in Northern Navarra on a drippy Saturday afternoon. The village is famous for its caves where pagans secretly practiced rituals in the Middle Ages, and the horrific witch trials that occurred there during the Spanish Inquisition. An air of magic still remains in the winding streets with traditional Basque whitewashed houses and green and red shuttered windows. I'm not often drawn to making scenic photographs, but something about the wetness of the day and the colors and textures captured me.

Rainy Days

We're going on our third full week of rainy days here in Navarra (Spain). For me this has meant lots of time doing homey things like baking cookies and making hand sewn dolls for Julen's second birthday, which is right around the corner. My little guy is changing so fast- already putting sentences together in 3 languages and wanting to explore the world more and more. These inside days can be a challenge, that's for sure, as we struggle to find ways to create and have fun. Soon these endless games of peekaboo will turn to running in the sunshine. Very soon.
